Dr. Radicchi’s expertise encompasses analysis and design of public spaces, soundscape research applied to urban quiet areas, qualitative research methods and novel participatory tools, like soundwalks and the Hush City app. She also holds the NCI Charrette System Training Certificate.
Dr. Radicchi is currently Senior Research Associate and HEAD-Genuit Foundation Fellow at the TU Berlin Institute of City & Regional Planning, where she is the Principal Investigator of the Hush City Mobile Lab project. 
Since 2017, she has been the inventor and curator of Hush City, a citizen science app to identify and map urban quiet areas, now used worldwide and awarded two international prices: the 2016 Falling Walls Young Innovator of the Year (finalist) and the 2019 BLOXHUB PRIX – Category Excellence (honorary mention).
Dr. Radicchi is a licensed architect and she holds a Ph.D. in Urban Design and Territorial Planning, with doctoral studies conducted at MIT (Cambridge, USA) and at the University of Firenze (IT).
Her research and professional work has been internationally awarded. Most notably: the HEAD-Genuit Foundation research grant, the Ipodi-Marie Curie Fellowship, the Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship, and the National Institute of Urbanism Award for the best Italian dissertation in urbanism, then published as a monograph.
Dr. Radicchi was Visiting Research Scholar at MIT (Cambridge, USA) and Visiting Senior Research Fellow at NYU (New York, USA). She has lectured at the university level for 10+ years, participated in international conferences and published 30+ contributions in international journals, books and conference proceedings, including a monograph. She is currently lead guest editor of the special issue “Sound and the Healthy City” of the journal Cities & Health, published by Routledge.
Since 2006, Dr. Radicchi has also conducted professional work and scientific advisory activity for different stakeholders, like City Councils (e.g. the Berlin City Council), architecture and urban design firms (e.g. Archea Associates), international Foundations (e.g. Venice Biennale - Biennial Foundation), the National Institute of Architecture IN/ARCH and the European Commission’s Research Executive Agency.
